He Shares And Cares

Ray AllenGood Character.  It is what sports are all about.  If you want to be loved by the fans you do not always have to be the best.  Just try your hardest and help other not as fortunate people out of sports.  Ray Allen does all of these and that is why I believe he should be the winner of the “Good Character” award.

Even though in my opinion and in most other people’s opinion Ray Allen is the best shooter to ever play in the NBA, he still shows good character.  Two things that are important to have good character in sports are being a team player and doing things out of sports to help other people.  Ray Allen shows both of these really well.

Ray Allen is one of the best examples of being a team player in the NBA.  He shows up on time at every single practice.  He also goes on to the court up to five hours before every game to practice his jump shot.  It is like going in to school three hours early just to help your group with a project.  Ray Allen definitely stays in shape.  Even though he is one of the older players on the team he is still one of the best by staying healthy.  The last time Ray ate a cheeseburger was when he was nineteen!

This all happens before games and during the off season.Ray Allen NBA Cares  During games Ray Allen shows, pretty obviously he is a team player.  Ray shares the ball and only shoots when he is open.  Which is a lot because he never gives up when trying to get open.  Which then leads to another thing about Ray.  He is always hustling.  He dives and runs his hardest to get to loose balls.  Another thing Ray Allen does really well is keeping his emotions to himself.  He never yells at any teammate and tells them they messed up or aren’t good or something else.  He supports his team, coach and teammates.  Ray Allen has gotten barely any technical fouls in his whole career, and does not just give away points by getting them.

Ray Allen has done so many things out of sports to help other people.  Ray teamed up with SlamDiabetes.  Ray’s son Walker has type 1 diabetes.  Ray and his mom set up Ray’s $3 for 3′s program.  Every time the superstar hits a three pointer many Celtics fans will be donating three dollars to help cure type 1 diabetes.  All of the money will go to the Joslin Diabetes Center.

Ray Allen and other Celtics helped raise money for the victims of The Haiti Earthquake.  The Big 3 (Kevin Garnett, Paul Pierce and Ray Allen) helped raise 100,000 dollars for the people who had to go through the earthquake that destroyed most of Haiti.

Ray allen is also a big part of the NBA Cares Association.  He helps kids all over America.  He does things like reads book to little kids and helps rebuilds houses in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina.  He does so much out of basketball that I do not see how you could give this award to anyone but Ray Allen of The Boston Celtics.

All of this is great, except that you don’t have a comparison. Once you get this I think it will be a great piece. I think you could come up with somebody a litttle more creative also. Good job though.

You did a good job. Everything seemed to be linked together, and there are no spelling mistakes, although, it did not convince me too much. But is was interesting that he didn’t eat a hamburger since he was nineteen. Overall, good job.
